February 16th

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising.

John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.”  Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld.  But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war.  As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction.

Jake is joined by gifted rival pilot Lambert (The Fate of the Furious’ Scott Eastwood) and 15-year- old Jaeger hacker Amara (newcomer Cailee Spaeny), as the heroes of the PPDC become the only family he has left.  Rising up to become the most powerful defense force to ever walk the earth, they will set course for a spectacular all-new adventure on a towering scale.

Pacific Rim Uprising is directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Netflix’s Daredevil, STARZ’s Spartacus) and also stars Jing Tian, Burn Gorman, Adria Arjona and Charlie Day.

Editors Note:

Monster Hunt 2 & Monster Family are also scheduled to release this month . Monster Family is releasing on February 9th. Monster Hunt 2 is releasing on February 16th. Both movie releases are fairly limited and may or may not include 3D versions of each perspective movie. It just depends on your local local theaters, so the 3D element is far from guaranteed . I wanted to mention both of these movies but not fully spotlight them since I couldn't get confirmation of a wide 3D release.

Master the Power of the White Chronicle and Repair Time!

Unlock the time traveling power of the White Chronicle once again in Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. This beloved classic is an expanded from the original Nintendo 3DS™ game and contains a great deal of added gameplay/story content, updated presentation, and new ways to experience the adventure!

The continent of Vainqueur is plagued with the spreading desertification, laying the land to waste by turning it slowly into sand. Tensions rise, and war breaks out for the remaining fertile land. Stocke, a Special Intelligence agent of Alistel, is sent on a special mission when he discovers the powers of the relic, the White Chronicle. With his new-found abilities, Stocke will need to right the wrongs of the past in order to prevent the total annihilation of the world. In this version, a new, mysterious character named Nemesia teaches him about the world's history and unlocks a third timeline to explore the ripple effect of some of his actions with episodic "what-if" scenarios.

With redesigned character art, new character voice-overs, music from the original composer Yoko Shimomura, and additional difficulty settings, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology will enhance the experience in this fresh take of a beloved story. This title also features both the classic original and an exhilarating new story through Perfect and Append modes. Append mode allows you to beat the original game before having the option to start a New Game+ with the added content, while Perfect mode lets you play through the game with the inclusion of the new content from the beginning.

With an exciting positioning-based battle system, memorable characters, and thrilling time-travel mechanics, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is essential for JRPG fans.

The Free Demo for this game releases today (February 1st 2018) on the Nintendo Eshop .

Editors Note:

A additional “3D” video game called 3D Mini Golf is releasing today (February 1st) . This game is not for the Nintendo 3DS but is for the Nintendo Switch . It doesn’t have stereoscopic 3D visuals. It really frustrates me when games have 3D in the title and don’t include stereoscopic 3D visuals. I wanted to mention it since it’s technically a “3D Release”.

3D Blu-ray

February 27th

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

Editors Note:

Please note this release doesn’t include  the 3D version. The 3D version of the movie is releasing later in other parts of the world, but for the American home release the 3D is not included . Considering the 3D element was forgettable I don't think it's a huge loss. I am including it on this list because it’s a noteworthy release.
