Sony And Marvel finally reveal the teaser trailer to Spider-Man No Way Home

“ For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters on December 17th 2021.

Currently we are assuming that Spider-Man No Way Home will be a 3D release. This is because the last few Spider-Man movies were released in 3D. Marvel and Sony also have a great track record with releasing their movies in 3D.

Hotel Transylvania 4 Transformania to skip theatrical run and go exclusively to Amazon Prime

Yesterday Variety reported the following:

Sony Pictures Animation and Amazon are nearing deal for over $100 million for the animated feature “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania” to stream globally on Amazon Prime Video, Variety has learned exclusively.

Something else to note in the article:

Sony will retain rights to home entertainment, linear TV and Chinese exhibition, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. - Variety

So maybe it will get a 3D Chinese theatrical release. Maybe we will get a 3D Blu-ray but that is up to Sony. The previous Hotel Transylvania movie “ Summer vacation “ never got a 3D Blu-ray release so it is likely that this will follow suit and not get a 3D blu-ray release . Amazon prime video is available worldwide and doesn’t stream in 3D. It might appear on Vudu like how the previous movie ‘ Summer vacation ’ got a digital release . 3D was not mentioned in any of the previous trailers or movie poster (see above) so I wonder if the movie was even converted into 3D:

In closing it looks like Hotel Transylvania 4 Transformania is not going to get a 3D release and it will probably be 2D only. We shall see how this story develops in the future. I imagine that other animated movies aimed for children may consider a digital release as the covid-19 pandemic continues.
