Because natural orders are boring

Last year Engine Software published the chaotic, frantic and heavily stylized 2D shooter "Gunslugs 2" on the 3DS eShop. This game - created by developer OrangePixel - was the sequel to "Gunslugs" and following absolute logic Engine Software has now decided to release the prequel after the sequel.

Gunslugs is a crazy fast action game featuring randomly generated levels.

Based on Gunslugs 2 community feedback, the 3DS release of Gunslugs will feature leaderboards."Gunslugs" will appear on the eShop in the next few weeks. The exact release date will be announced as soon as it is known. The game will cost €1.99 / $1.99.

Nintendo 3DS Does Not Infringe 3D Technology Patent

Nintendo 3DS Found Not to Infringe 3D Technology Patent on Retrial

Judge’s Decision Follows Nintendo’s Successful Appeal

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On Sunday, April 24, 2016, federal Judge Jed Rakoff in New York ruled that the Nintendo 3DS does not infringe a patent on 3D display technology originally asserted against Nintendo by plaintiffs Tomita Technologies USA, Inc. and Tomita Technologies International, Inc. in 2011. Judge Rakoff’s ruling follows Nintendo’s successful appeal of an earlier verdict, and is the result of a 2015 re-trial. This decision fully reverses and corrects a 2013 verdict against Nintendo. Specifically, Judge Rakoff found that the Nintendo 3DS performs in a significantly different way and does more than was contemplated by the Tomita patent.

“We are very pleased with the court’s finding that Nintendo does not infringe,” said Ajay Singh, Nintendo of America’s Director of Litigation and Compliance. “Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products, and we aggressively defend patent lawsuits when our products do not infringe, even when we must do it over many years and through multiple trials.”

“There are a lot of exciting things happening at Nintendo right now,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We can’t wait to show off what we’ve been working on to all of our fans. And with this many Nintendo fans in one place, it’s the ideal place to play some upcoming games for the first time.”

Making its playable public debut, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is a stylish new Wii U role-playing game from ATLUS, developers of numerous RPG series. This energetic game features a deep battle system inspired by both the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei series imbued with a J-Pop twist, and includes real-life locations in Tokyo. By visiting the Nintendo booth, you’ll be able to play a demo for the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE game. When the Wii U game launches on June 24, it will also launch with a one-of-a-kind special edition available at GameStop and Amazon.com. The special edition contains the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE game, a 5x8 color artbook, a six-song soundtrack CD featuring some of the game’s awesome music, six song cards and a sticker sheet at a suggested retail price of $79.99. The bundle will also contain DLC codes for all five sets of planned downloadable content. Releasing at launch, the five DLC packs contain additional quests or costumes, and will cost $1.99 each if purchased separately outside of the special edition.

Two other games that will be publicly playable for the first time are Kirby: Planet Robobot and Monster Hunter Generations, both exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. The Kirby: Planet Robobot game launches on June 10 and finds Kirby equipping powerful Robobot Armor to destroy obstacles and copy enemy abilities. The game will launch with a new line of Kirby series amiibo figures (sold separately), but the game is also compatible with all amiibo, giving Kirby fun character-specific and random Copy Abilities. Kirby himself will also be available for photos in the Nintendo booth. Launching this summer, the Monster Hunter Generations game is the next entry in the popular action RPG series. It is the most customizable Monster Hunter experience to date, and serves as a fitting tribute to the last decade of the series. Monster Hunter Generations can be played, along with Kirby: Planet Robobot, by visiting the Nintendo booth.

Also playable at the Nintendo booth is the Metroid Prime: Federation Force game. The sci-fi shooter that finds a squad of up to four players working together to combat space pirates launches exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on Aug. 19.

Nintendo games scheduled to be playable at the booth include:

Wii U

Nintendo 3DS

  • Kirby: Planet Robobot
  • Monster Hunter Generations
  • Metroid Prime: Federation Force

Two upcoming Wii U games created by developing partners of Nintendo are also playable at PAX East. Axiom Verge, an acclaimed action exploration game set on an alien planet developed by Thomas Happ Games, and Tumblestone, a unique puzzler developed by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, will be playable at the developers’ respective booths on the show floor.

In addition to all the fun playable games, Nintendo will host a Bravely Default: End Layer panel on Sunday, April 24, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET in the Dragonfly Theatre. The panel will feature developers from SQUARE ENIX discussing the creation of the just-released role-playing game. Behind-the-scenes info, such as concept art and gameplay, will be shown, concluding with an audience Q&A. On Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. ET, the SQUARE ENIX developers will also be at the Nintendo booth to meet fans and sign autographs.

The Nintendo booth (No. 8093) is located in the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center at 415 Summer St., Boston, MA 02210. Booth hours are the same as PAX East expo hall hours: April 22-24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.
