Overall I enjoyed the 3D visuals presented within this movie. Before watching this movie I was worried about the 3D because many scenes in the trailer showcased darkly lit environments. I am happy to report that this movie had no real issues with all the dark scenes and the stereoscopic 3D. Sadly your experience will vary depending on your local theater (I watched it in Cinemark XD), but it’s worth noting because the vast majority of this movie is set in darkly lit locations and many theatres may not be able to display it correctly. The movie mainly uses 3D depth. The 3D in the movie has a nice diorama effect which gives depth the environments to appear more realistic. The 3D visuals makes the dinosaurs appear more lifelike on screen and it complements the special effects. Sometimes objects and or dinosaurs will pop out of the screen in none gimmicky ways. One specific scene where all the dinosaurs are stampeding toward the screen is very impressive and more thrilling in 3D. I do wish that pop out 3D was more of a factor in this movie. I was not wowed by the 3D but I wasn’t disappointed either. All in all the 3D makes the various action scenes more fun and exciting and is worth your money.

“Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom” is the sequel to 2015 “Jurassic World” and it is both surprisingly fun and a totally predictable movie.
This is the fifth “Jurassic” movie and the second movie with the “World” moniker. This is more of the same formula and by this point you should know what to expect from this series. “Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom” follows all the familiar tropes:
- Children being endangered by the Dinosaurs
- Greedy unethical people wanting to make money from the dinosaurs
- Frivolous characters that only exist to be later eaten by the carnivorous dinosaurs
- Action scenes where the main protagonists are potentially killed but somehow survive at the last second
- Heavy handed moral about playing God
- People making stupid decisions that don’t make much sense but are excuses to extend the action scenes and the plot
This movie is set three years after the events of “Jurassic World”. The two main protagonists (Claire and Owen) return for this movie. Claire now works for a dinosaur rights group who want to save the remaining dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are located on a island that has a active volcano . Benjamin Lockwood is a rich businessman who needs assistance from Claire and Owen to save the dinosaurs before the volcano erupts and fully destroys the island . Does Lockwood have ulterior motives? What will happen to all the saved dinosaurs?
The movie is stupid, powerfully profoundly stupid and yet I enjoyed my time with it . The movie is very predictable yet entertaining and enjoyable. Many decisions are made in the movie that I found to be ridiculous and totally idiotic. I actually believe that this movie is purposely being stupid for the sake of being stupid and it is best to just go along for the ride and enjoy its stupidity. Many scenes are done in a fashion to look cool and don’t make much logical sense . Maybe I’m reading too much into it but I think the filmmakers know what they are doing and purposely made this to be a self referential parody . They do a great job of making the audience feel sympathetic to the dinosaurs. One scene in particular will forever burn into my memory. This is not a great movie by any means but it is a fun dumb adventure.
Overall I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. The action scenes are fun and the special effects are great. The story is incredibly stupid and the characters are all one dimensional but I really enjoyed it despite its many idiotic flaws and stupid plot holes .
